Short Term Fosters Needed ASAP

June 11th, 2013 | Posted by HSMCadmin in Uncategorized - (Comments Off)

Fostering saves lives!!! We need 2-3 weeks fosters for some of our puppies and dogs who have rescue commitment but have to out of the shelter for at least 2 weeks before they can travel on the transport bus.

Fostering one of our dogs not only helps them get on their way to rescue but it opens up a spot in our shelter so that we can take in another homeless animal who needs help!

Please open your hearts and homes to these animals in need.

If you can help, please complete our Foster Form online at http://www.humanesocietyofmarlboro.org/foster-questionnaire/
or email Melanie, our Foster Coordinator, at hsmcfosters@gmail.com

Carmen’s Last Chance

June 11th, 2013 | Posted by HSMCadmin in Uncategorized - (Comments Off)

Please help Carmen. We are out of options.

Help us get socialization training for Carmen.

Carmen is a semi-feral dog who we have been caring for now for over 1 year. We still cannot touch her or handle her and therefore she has zero chance of adoption or rescue. We are out of options.

Carmen was born and grew to the age of 4-5 months in the woods of Marlboro County with no human contact. We trapped her and have been caring for her since. We have tried to socialize her but do not have the expertise or experience to break through to her. She avoids humans at all costs.

We have had great success with socializing and training a similar dog that was sent to a training facility in nearby Hartsville, SC. A rescue group covered the expense at that time and that once untouchable dog is living comfortably in a home with kids and though still timid loves his people.

We want the same opportunity for Carmen. We are out of any other options for this poor girl. Please help us. All donations are tax-deductible.

EMERGENCY PUPPY FOSTERS NEEDED ASAP!

Our shelter has taken in 23 puppies since Monday with 9 more on the way. We already had 3 litters at the shelter. We are in puppy overload! Besides the fact that a shelter is no place for a puppy to be, WE HAVE NO ROOM!
